The SIE exam assesses your basic knowledge of the Securities Industry. It covers topics such as types of products, regulatory agencies, and the functioning of markets.
Total Questions: 85 (75 scored, 10 unscored),
Time Limit: 1 hour and 45 minutes,
Passing score: 70%
It’s a great first step in starting your finance career.
No. Anyone over the age of 18 can study and take the SIE without sponsorship of a firm. From recent college graduates to mid career changers, this is a great opportunity to signal that you are dedicated to a career in the financial services industry.
Firstly, you must have your SIE. The SIE is the foundation of all other FINRA licences. The Series 7 is an ‘add on’ to the SIE.
Preparing for the Series 7 exam requires a solid study plan. We recommend using the expert materials available at www.Achievable.me and a personalized study plan provided as part of our service. This will reinforce your understanding of the multitude of Series 7 topics.
The exam is 3 hours and 45 minutes. The exam consists of 135 questions. 125 are scored, 10 unscored. You must score 90 correct out of 125. Pass is 72%.
We use materials provided by Achievable.me which are very comprehensive. We also create a study plan for you, video tutorials, and practice exams. I also respond to emailed questions between Zoom sessions. All these resources are designed to help you pass first time.
Just contact us by emailing us at series7sietutor@gmail.com. or calling 603 333 1311 and we’ll take it from there.
Email me between sessions with your problems, that way we will have a greater use of tuition time before our next session.
My objective is to have you learn at your own pace according to the type of learner you are.
I am a Dedicated Educator with two Masters Degrees (Finance & Economics) and it is my purpose to see students succeed.
We cover the full spectrum of FINRAs exams, but mainly the SIE, Series 7, Series 6, Series 63 and Series 66 for prospective RIAs.
We will progress according to plan, but with flexibility built in. I will review what you have achieved since the last session and will ensure that you understand the concept and application of the topic before we proceed further.
Iniatially when you contact me, we will have a ZOOM meeting to discuss your situation.
From that point I will have you complete your Training Needs Assessment.
From then on I will design a study plan for you. This fee will be $150. This service is separate from tuition.
I am flexible on rates. For a single one hour session my rate is $125 per hour, but I typically create a ‘package’ that lowers the marginal cost overall but never below an average of $85 per hour.
I prefer to offer packages as they are designed around the needs of each of my students.
If you decide to hire me as your Tutor, having agreed to a ‘package’, I will discount the $150 TNA fee from your package.
Worked Example:
5 hours of 1 on 1 tuition $500
less TNA $150
equals $350 for 5 hour package.
(Advisory: This is just an example, but typical)
Retakes are my speciality. As an experienced Educator, FINRA, Economics Lecturer as well as an English Language Teacher, I am very aware of the struggles of students trying to overcome something completely new to them. It is awful to have failed the Series 7 by two points.
In the case of ‘retakes’, I do a ‘Gap Analysis’ to discover the problem areas. The analysis involves the students perspective and the breakdown of the results on the FINRA printout.
FINRAs ‘Three Strike’ Penalty 30/30/180 imposes certain wait times in case of failure. A candidate must wait at least 30 calendar days for the first two failures and 180 days if he/she fails a third time.
In order to avoid a second failure, we will design the creation of a study plan to focus on the gaps while maintaining current knowledge.
These are licenses not degrees. FINRA does not provide pass grades. It will only provide a ‘Performance Report’ if a candidate has failed.
